Front of House

The Elveden Inn is seeking experienced Front of House team members – with the WOW factor! Duties will include all aspects of customer service – table waiting, drinks and bar service, greeting and seating and anything that is required to ensure our guests have the excellent and fun experience they expect. Previous experience is advantageous but full training will be given to the right candidates. Kitchen Porter

Exceptionally high standard of work required for this very busy country Inn, keen attention to detail is a must. This is a very diverse position that is integral to the running of the business. You will be working as part of the kitchen team. Dedication to be the best you can be is a fundamental requirement of this position.

  • Hours 30-40, 5 days per week

  • Ensure basic cleaning jobs are carried out as quickly as possible

  • Collect and wash up pots and pans

  • Clean food preparation areas and equipment, in addition to crockery and cutlery

  • Unload food and equipment deliveries

  • Keep the storeroom organised

  • Keep work surfaces, walls and floors clean and sanitised

Vacancies on the Estate

Grading System Operator

Reporting to the Grader Manger and covering the grader in their absence.

We have recently installed a new high-tech grading system which uses pictorial imaging to sort onions into size and quality.  We now are progressing beyond the commissioning phase.

We are looking for somebody to take minute to minute responsibility for ‘driving’ the line.

This role requires the candidate to possess a good standard of computer literacy with a very high attention to detail. They must have the ability to work as a part of a team but also be able to think for themselves and be a problem solver.

Taking responsibility for:

  • Quality, safety, legalities, security and authenticity of product on site, in accordance with site policies and procedures.

  • Screen and topper blade management.

  • Visual inspection and selection of product, in accordance with quality and food safety requirements

  • Notification of hopper/grader/line equipment failure during production

  • Start and stop of lines at beginning and end of shift and break times.

  • Assisting with maintenance requirements, including bin repair and cleaning requirements.

  • To ensure the continual movement of product throughout the process from intake to despatch.

  • Monitoring of compactor levels

  • Rubicon - Labels, RCI's and Dispatch Notes

Harvest Student Opportunities in 2020

Elveden is a 22,500-acre country estate, of which over 10,000 acres is farmland. We are a diverse farming business and operate on 9,500 acres of silt land. Wherever possible we invest in the latest technology and equipment to enhance and challenge our team to continually improve their skills.

 

Our farming business operates across 4 separate geographic areas, and we are looking for summer students on one of those sites. We have vacancies for students in Cambridgeshire. We are seeking applicants who are currently studying Agriculture at any level, but with a focus on arable, root vegetable or technical.

 

You will be given exposure to various aspects of our business gaining hands on experience from field operations to the loading and transporting of produce for grading and storage.

 

This is a varied role, students displaying a real aptitude, passion and enthusiasm, may be given the opportunity to receive further training on more specialised equipment.

 

We are looking for applicants with a full driving licence, team player and ability to work in with others. During the height of the season you will need to be adaptable and flexible with regards to your working hours to include weekends.

 

Commencing mid-July through to September/October depending on educational commitments. This will give you invaluable experience and an insight in to working on a commercial farm enabling you to develop key practical skills and knowledge.

 

Salary depending on experience.  

 

Accommodation is available at a nominal fee.

The Elveden Courtyard Kitchen are looking for a Full Time Kitchen Porter to join our small and friendly team.
